Warning: Contentious Pauline Truth: Who Should We Really be Rebuking and Marking & Avoiding?

1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

THE CONTEXT OF ROMANS 16

Being of one mind as members of His body.

Romans 15:6
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yet also taking into consideration those who are weak in the faith on one condition:

Romans 14:1
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

Doubtful disputations: Arguments, altercations, bickering or debates.

The people who must be marked (identified) and avoided are saved and sealed members of the Body of Christ who unfortunately believe and propagate doctrine contrary to the doctrine contained in Paul’s 13 epistles, rightly divided, and in so doing create divisions in the Body and offend not only those upholding sound doctrine, but God too.

Romans 16:17-18
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

How are these people marked/identified though?

By naming them, and providing proof of the fables they preach. Paul named (marked) them, and gave the reason why they were to be avoided, and since we follow him, we do as he instructs us to do.

Yet today it is considered anathema in the modern Grace (non) Movement which largely upholds to the denominational belief of seeing marking and avoiding as unloving, bitterness and ironically the reason for causing division in the Body, yet in truth, when it comes to these folk, it is the unbiblical and anti-Pauline glue of ecumenism which is promoted under the guise of (feigned) love which is actually the tie that binds them.

1 Timothy 1:19-20
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Hymenaeus and Alexander were both saved and sealed members of the Body of Christ, but they became shipwrecked concerning the faith of Christ. Paul named their error in 2 Timothy 2:18.

The problematic doctrine, lack of the following mindset and motives which cause divisions and offences in the Body of Christ:

1 Timothy 1:4
Neither give heed to

fables

and endless genealogies,

which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

1 Timothy 1:5-8
Now the end of the commandment is

charity out of a pure heart,

and of a good conscience,

and of faith unfeigned:

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

The topsy turviness of it all makes these folk believe denominatiolists are the ones to be marked and avoided, BUT it is actually denominationalists who we should be preaching the gospel to. There may be saved people in certain denominations, but we do not know that, so we have to preach the gospel to them, regardless. In the end, if they do not believe, we need to shake the dust off our feet and move onto other “pastures”.

2 Corinthians 13:1-2
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

Who do we rebuke (and afterwards mark and avoid publicly if they do not listen)?

Those who preach fables in public/openly.

1 Timothy 5:20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

And who do we approach privately?

Those who are sexually immoral, like those who commit adultery and/or fornicatiom, those who steal and those with other private sins which cause problems in private (in marriage, familial and other relationships, etc).

But it seems to be the other way around nowadays in the Grace (non) Movement: Those believers who choose to go down the road of sexual immorality are rebuked in public, and so we get to hear all the sordid details of their private lives, yet those who preach twaddle (unsound doctrine) publicly, are approached in private, if at all…

The modern Grace (non) Movement is more concerned with men’s reputations than it is with sound doctrine and maintaining sound Pauline truth.

The introduction of lies, fables and the law into Paul’s Acts epistles, no longer make it the faith of Christ they are preaching, neither is the gospel perversion of everyone’s sins are forgiven remotely considered to be Pauline truth, and what makes these doctrines so dangerous is that there are many who believe them, who so happen to be likeminded, which automatically equates in their minds to the truth.

If you are a saved and sealed believer, but choose to be a follower of men rather than the Apostle Paul, you will stand ashamed at the Judgment Seat of Christ one day.

Titus 3:10-11
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Knowledge in tandem with 1 Timothy 1:5 and 2 Timothy 2:15 is the antidote to gospel perversion, Acts 28 theology, Universalism, denominationalism, Calvinism, et al.
