those so-called believers who have issues with 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 being the gospel, are the very people who are unable to grasp spiritual things :
1 Corinthians 2:14 ~ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
2 Corinthians 13:5 ~ Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
They should really be feeling this way about the gospel instead of denying it’s saving power :
Romans 1:16 ~ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Moreover, if one had to read Romans 1:16 from an Acts 28ers point of view it would be discerned as follows – since the Greeks to them are also Jews :
…… to the Jew first, and also to the Jewish prostelyte or those that blessed Israel according to the Abrahamic Covenant.
No salvation for the Gentiles it seems – nope, those Greeks weren’t the same as the other Gentiles – they were somehow unique……… especially as they believed in mythology and had various pagan gods whom they worshipped.
You want to tell me that people can’t see the simple truth of the progressive revelation of the Apostle Paul’s epistles?
Some clot out there is also teaching that the entire mystery was revealed to Paul in Acts 9, and therefore EVERYTHING that Paul writes after Acts 9 is doctrine TO the body of Christ, and in so doing, denies 1 Corinthians 13:10-12, and not only that but he perceives the Apostle Paul’s ministry as being sterile : Paul never encountered Jews who believed the Kingdom Gospel? And he never spoke to them………. just walked right past them…… Paul never discussed their spiritual standing with them? How they shouldn’t be proud nor should they boast as they could lose their salvation.
1 Corinthians 13 :
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
This is the very reason why the sign gifts and prophecies ceased – because they were no longer required as the mystery at this stage had been fully revealed.
Just as the Bible is progressive revelation, so are the Apostle Paul’s epistles.
