The two most misunderstood words

Intelligence and cunning.

Most people mistake cunning for intelligence.  Whereas most people who are cunning are perceived as being intelligent, nothing could be further from the truth.

Cunning : Having or showing skill in achieving one’s ends by deceit or evasion.  Otherwise known as deviousness, scheming, craftiness, manipulation, being sly.

Intelligence : The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.   Otherwise known as the ability to reason, understanding, discernment, ability.

Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
