Twice in the past two weeks I’ve heard mainline denominationalists justify controlling people : “I am not saying it – God’s Word says it”. Meanwhile back at the ranch it’s doctrine for ISRAEL.
You can scare the ? out of people that way, and it’s the best way of controlling them too.
Yes God’s Word (the Bible) says it, but was it written TO you?
1 Peter 1:1
Whose fathers in times past did God send prophets to? Pagan Gentiles? No, Israel.
The other way they do it is by proof-texting :
1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
So you better behave….. better dance, shout, raise your hands……..
But 1 Corinthians 6 goes onto to clearly state :
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God
In the name of the Lord Jesus
What is so difficult to understand about that?
What really takes the cake is when one unsaved religious person calls the next unsaved religious person an heretick or suspect because they sell “holy water” or handle snakes.
The tragedy and the irony is that both will spend eternity in the same place if they don’t believe the Gospel alone for their salvation – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
