Was listening to some goofball on the radio (I know,,,, why do I torture myself like this?). Summed up : I think it’s just a case of “curiosity killed the cat”. I’m a very inquisitive person 🙂 and always want to know what others are saying when it comes to religion – the good, the bad and the ugly.
The goofball in question is a preacher of some sort – didn’t get the denomination (but definitely one of Satan’s preachers of righteousness) and he was waxing lyrically about Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
When asked “what sin did Adam and Eve commit”. His comment was that no-one knows, but that they definitely committed a sin……. seriously?
Eve didn’t eat an apple and offer Adam a bite, nor was the serpent coiled around one of the brances of the tree because he had legs before God cursed him.
Nor did they commit fornication.
What did Adam and Eve do wrong?
They disobeyed God.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they lost their childlike innocence. One can compare it to a child who reaches the age of accountability – one doesn’t see the world and the people in it with the same eyes anymore and that would include oneself – you come to a realisation, your eyes are “opened”.
Before they (Adam and Eve) ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they were both naked and felt no shame, after they had eaten it they felt shame and sewed fig leaves together to cover their shame. Compare it to an innocent child who has no shame being naked, but when he/she reaches a certain age – he/she feels the shame in their nakedness.
Satan schmoozes people the same way today as he did Adam and Eve:
With doctrine (God’s words) which he twists :
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
As members of the body of Christ the Apostle Paul tells us this about good and evil:
Romans 16:19 ~ “For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.”
Today the world is simple unto that which is good, and wise concerning evil.
