RECONCILING NOT RECONCILED

God is currently RECONCILING the (lost) world unto Himself by way of the word of reconciliation (the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and He has done this by giving saved people the ministry of reconciliation – whereby God’s unmerited favour is preached (grace through faith in Christ’s finished work on Calvary’s Cross + His resurrection).

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

People go to hell for remaining in their own righteousness = sin.

People go to heaven for obtaining God’s righteousness

You cannot be reconciled to God if you are in your own righteousness.

That’s why BELIEF  in the fact that Christ died for your………….. SINS is part of the word of reconciliation.  If you do not believe that, you remain in your sin and are hell bound.

Verse 19 starts with the word “to wit” which means : namely, or that is to say, so verse 19 has to be read in context with the preceding verses, because verse 19 clarifies what was said in the preceding verses.

If you cannot understand that and you proof-text verse 19 you become a full blown Universal reconciliationist.

Those clothed in their own righteousness cannot be reconciled to God, they are unable to stand before a righteous, holy God – they are not justified, and in order to be justified, you have to be reconciled to Him.

Ephesians 1:7 proves that our sins are forgiven the minute we believe (the gospel) :

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

The world doesn’t have that – only saved people, the Apostle Paul is speaking to saved people in the epistle to the Ephesians, not lost people.

The fact that God is reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses is stating how God is operating today – when you believe the Gospel, your sins are no longer imputed to your account.  Why?  Because they have been forgiven?  Why?  Because you believed that HE died for your sins (was buried and rose again on the 3rd day), so when you believe HE died for your sins it effectually means He took ALL your sins, and HE did what?  Imputed His righteousness to you.

You don’t have those sins anymore when you are saved – and that is what mainline, denominational Christianity cannot understand, why?  Because they do not understand God’s grace, and that is why they still REPENT OF THEM, which in effect is totally pointless because Christ took ALL OF THOSE SINS – and you need to do what?  BELIEVE IT.

In times past God wasn’t operating the same way as He is doing today, nor will He operate the same way in times to come – nowhere in Hebrew doctrine (Israel’s Old Covenant and Israel’s New Covenant) does it state that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses, because in times to come those trespasses (sins) will be imputed to peoples’ accounts – that’s why they have to endure to the end.

The reason for our eternal security and OSAS is because God isn’t imputing our sins to our accounts today.

So much for those so-called Grace Preachers who turn 2 Corinthians 5:19 into brain surgery and teach that the entire world, irrespective of their beliefs do not have their sins imputed to their accounts today and that they are reconciled to God.  Seriously?  Muslims, God haters, God’s enemies are reconciled to HIM, yet they go to hell with their sins forgiven?  What a load of crock.  What blasphemy.  Totally illogical and inept doctrine.  And there are those who believe it.
