What does the Apostle Paul say in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4?
Paraphrased it states that without a doubt, that if one believes Christ died for one’s sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, one is saved. Period. Nothing more, and nothing less.
And who is Romans 10 written to?
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Who was the Apostle Paul speaking TO in Acts 19?
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
Yes, Jewish disciples in Ephesus, the same people who some reckon to be the only true Gentiles, because they weren’t “tainted with any Jewish blood”, hence the fact they were the only ones who were far removed and strangers to Israel’s covenants and promises………………. of the same ilk the Apostle Paul was speaking TO in Romans 10. JEWS.
Sssssshhhhh, but don’t say it out loud, you might upset them, just like we shouldn’t upset the dude in question mentioned below because he is after all a Mid-Acts Dispensational brother in Christ. Irrefutable proof that one can know Right Division and still be lost because you believe another gospel……
This was copied and pasted over word for word – not one change was made except to highlight certain points. Do you think this person who proclaims to be a Mid-Acts Dispensationalist Right Divider, is saved? I very much doubt it because he preaches another gospel which isn’t another – one with confessing with one’s mouth added to the (pure) grace gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Nowhere in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 does the Apostle Paul stated that if we (a) confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus Christ, (b) believe he died for our sins, (c) was buried, and (d) rose again from the dead on the 3rd day we are saved.
You want to see proof-texting and subtility in action? Read the article below. Anyone coming out of denominationalism will have no problem believing this man’s gospel because it’s pretty much the same gospel they preach in denominational churches….. confessing with one’s mouth – a verb – doing, which is actually a part of Israel’s Kingdom gospel.
This is the kind of ignorance and blatant stupidity that makes me want to exit this world – gross error, an error that keeps people on the path to hell, but you dare not call them out on it as it upsets too many other “saved Right Dividers”, you know, the ones who think of themselves and prim, proper, nice, good and decent people – who are going to split hell wide open. Call it by what it is.
It’s downright sickening.
And I quote :
If thou shalt confess
By: Dov Avnon
10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
How should I be saved from the wages of sin (which ) is death ? There some who argue that the gospel of salvation as Christ gave to Paul in Romans 10 : 9-10 is different from that one that the same Christ gave to Paul in 1 Cor . 15 : 1-5 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received , how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures ; 4 And that he was buried , and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures : 1 1 Corinthians 15 :3-4 .
This is a very strange teaching . Those who teach that Romans 10 : 8-12 is not the gospel that save us , reject also other parts in Paul letters in the name of ” rightly dividing the words of truth . which according to them (2)is the different between Paul’s early and prison letters or between the different groups of believers in his letters . Other brethren like to use often Ephesians 1 : 13-14 after that ye heard the word of truth , the gospel of your salvation.
It is about what they HEARD ! Christ revealed Paul right from the beginning a gospel which was a mystery. The Gospel was based only on faith with out the work of the law.
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: Galatians 1:4
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Galatians 3:2
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatias 3:13
So again! Paul was preaching right from the beginning of his ministry that salvation based only on Gods grace trough faith.
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:24
Many are confusing the subject around CONFEFFESING. There are many wrong teachings around that say that a person should first confess/admit his sins and then trust Christ. The reason for this confusion is mixing between Christ words to Paul about confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and the verses below.
ACTS 19:18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
JAMES 5:16 confess [your] faults one to another,
1 JOHN 1:9 If we confess our sins
Being save under the dispensation of grace is more easy that you think. I think religion made it complicated not the Bible
For I speak to you Gentiles
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. Romans 11:13
Before we go further with our study, It is important to say that in Romans 9-10-11 or in all the letters to the Romans. Paul is the same apostle of the Gentiles like in all his letters and Paul speak to you Gentiles. . Romans 9-10-11 are great chapters full of provocation written to the gentiles because by the time Christ saved Paul, Israel was in blindness.
So let see what Christ gave to Paul in Romans 10:9-10.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus –
Paul is not talking here about confession of sin. Just because CONFESSION is a verb it still not part of the works of the law. What is CONFESSION?
A confession is a statement made by a person acknowledging some fact. Many see confession only in the light of SIN but this is not what Paul is talking about.
LEVITICUS 5:5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing NUMBERS 5:7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done MATTHEW 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Paul is talking about – if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus. Yes acknowledging the Jesus Christ IS GOD is part of our salvation. Who died for your sins? Who is this JESUS (Gods save). It is God that was on the Cross.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost 1 Corinthians chapter 12
There is under this dispensation of Grace only one way of salvation not 2 or 3 there is also under this dispensation of Grace one way of salvation for a Jew and Gentile.
ROMANS 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. PHILIPPIANS 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
the works of the law
Some people are confusing between VERB and the works of the law. Just because faith, confess might be VERB it is not about the works of the law which is circumcision, sacrifice, keeping the Law of mosses.
GALATIANS 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law – GALATIANS 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? -GALATIANS 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? -GALATIANS 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse.
From reading Eph 2:8-9 we are learning that salvation is because of God’s grace just by believing the gospel of our salvation. Paul is saying:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:8-9
TITUS 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done…..
GALATIANS 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
What are those works that Paul is talking about? Just because FAITH and CONFESS are verbs means that they are WORKS ? of course not. This is misunderstanding the subject of THE WORKS of the LAW.
So after we understand that the –confess- in Rom. 10:9-10 is about acknowledgment that Christ is God let see what Christ through Paul is really teaching us here
10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
The sinner see Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; must acknowled that the one we are talking about IS GOD.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost 1 Cor 12:3
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
The same sinner – Jew or not because under this dispensation of grace all are the same, must belive – that God hath raised him from the dead – Who is the one that God raised from the death ? Christ God that also died on the cross.
thou shalt be saved – about which salvation does Paul is talking about ?
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 6:23
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom 5:9
So let’s not forget that acknowledgement that Christ is God/Lord is part of our salvation. You are not save because Christian theology teach that some man by the name JESUS said that he died for our sins. Your salvation is because you believe that Christ IS GOD who died on the cross for you ! You are trusting here GOD and not just a man.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you are not able to believe/accept that Christ is GOD – that he is the one that on the cross died for your sins – then your salvation is not complete.
The doctrine of salvation in Paul letters is build from the following facts. We will not find the details in one letter but the picture is clear.
1- Sin came into the world – Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world
2- All people are sinners – Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned….
3- Sin bring death – Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death….
The only way to be save from this death is Through The Lords Jesus Christ. But why people need Christ?
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Romans 8:8
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:25
So now after we know what is Christ place in this salvation plan. Let see what is our part as born sinners. Are we get save just like this naturally because God love the world? No ! We get save because God had special love for the world.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
You see if God did not take care on the sin issue we were lost.
So what now ? what is the word of faith ? what is the gospel of our salvation?
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Cor 15:1-4
2- confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
3- believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead
4- that Christ died for our sins
5- And that he was buried
6- and that he rose again
How many people do you think this man is getting saved by preaching this gospel?
But no-one says a word, and you dare not call it what it is. “Let’s all just agree to disagree”.
