All men are born equal

Depending on how you look at it.  If you look at it from a materialistic, worldly point of view, then no, not all men are born equal.

But if one looks at it spiritually, then yes, all men are BORN equal – only to become unequal depending on whether they are saved or not.  Either you’re reconciled to God, or you’re not.

Romans 3:

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

“There is none righteous” – present tense.

For those who are under the erroneous thinking that they have to repent of their sin in order for Christ to save them :  “they are all under sin;”  “There is none righteous”, “There is NONE that doeth good, no, not one”  Not even you. “There is none that understandeth”.

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

ALL the world may become guilty before God – all have the same spiritual status (if they aren’t saved)

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

An important verse which is overlooked by Arminianists:

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Repent of your sin?  Change your lifestyle?  – by the deeds of the law there shall NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT.

Another important verse which is blatantly ignored by so-called christians:

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

BUT NOW – what does it mean?  It means that people were once justified by the law, BUT NOW (meaning things have changed) THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD WITHOUT THE LAW IS MANIFESTED.

Which means you can keep the 10 commandments (or try to keep them) – it won’t mean a thing because the way we RECEIVE God’s righteousness today is without the law, i.e., by simple faith in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection.

Arminianist theology contradicts itself:

On the one hand it says that all men are totally depraved, yet on the other hand it is left up to the same depraved men to change their lifestyles and repent of their sin BEFORE God will accept them.

As an unsaved, depraved person you have no understanding, your mind is corrupt, you are in the devil’s will, so how are you capable of changing yourself?  Don’t tell me through the aid of the Holy Spirit, because you do not have the Holy Spirit – you’re still unsaved, remember?
