God’s imputed righteousness

Romans 4:

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord WILL NOT IMPUTE SIN.

2 Corinthians 5:

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, RECONCILING (*present tense*) the world unto himself, not IMPUTING THEIR TRESPASSES UNTO THEM;  and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Those who are RECONCILED to God, who have believed/had faith/trusted in Christ’s finished work for payment of their sins aren’t having their sins/trespasses imputed to them.  Why?  Because they have God’s righteousness (which comes by faith).

Romans 4:

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

===============

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
