The subtility of an unsaved Romans 10:9er.

SUB-TITLE :  WHAT IS THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES MEN’S SOULS?

IS THIS PERSON SAVED?

You be the judge according to what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 :

“If you don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, it is our prayer that you might read something in the next few minutes that will convict you, that is, convince you that you need a Saviour. If you are already saved, then it is our hope that you might read something in the next few minutes that will build you up in your faith and help to establish you in the truth of the gospel. We hope that you will understand that your salvation is based totally and completely upon the finished word of Christ at Calvary for you.”

An unsaved Acts 28er’s view of the gospel and salvation.

Why?

  1. Unsaved, pew warming denominationalists know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.  Where in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 does it state one must KNOW the Lord Jesus Christ as one’s personal saviour?
  2. Where does it state in scripture (in Paul’s epistles) that the Holy Spirit convicts people in order for them to “know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal saviour”? Unsaved people don’t have the Holy Ghost.

If you are already saved, then it is our hope that you might read something in the next few minutes that will build you up in your faith and help to establish you in the truth of the gospel. We hope that you will understand that your salvation is based totally and completely upon the finished word of Chinrist at Calvary for you.”

  1. As a saved person, your faith cannot be built up to help establish you in the truth of the gospel , especially not in the “next few minutes”- why?  Because you already believe it (the gospel), hence the reason you are saved.  One can only be “built up” by edification by way of sound Pauline truth after one’s salvation – and that takes a lifetime – that’s why Paul called it a race.  (and I also might add, so much for “obtaining joint-heirs with Christ status after studying a (man-made) “curriculum”)
  2. He mentions Christ’s finished work “at Calvary” – but there is no mention of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, as per 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

THEN – after stating that salvation is by Christ’s finished work “at Calvary” – he then goes on to pull the rabbit out of the hat and shows his true colours:

“One day, you are going to have to answer to God for what you believe. What you believe….about Christ. Are you trusting Christ? Is Jesus Christ your Saviour? Do you have a Saviour? Romans 10:9 says:

Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Note the tense :  trusting – ongoing, which suggest one can lose one’s salvation, as opposed to TRUSTED – finished, done – saved.  Are you trusting or have you trusted the gospel of your salvation, Christ’s finished work on Calvary’s CROSS and His resurrection from the dead on the third day?

Ephesians 1:13

In whom ye also TRUSTED, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

NOTE:

I still have a lot to say on this topic but I have to tend to something else at the moment – as Arnie used to say, “I’ll be back”….. to complete this post.

I would like to add that this article written by this person is THE REASON why one cannot go around just believing anybody – why?  Because one’s salvation depends on it.
