How is God operating today?
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Just as God justified Abraham through faith, He is justifying (saving) heathens in this current dispensation.
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
But the good news Abraham (as a heathen) had to believe in order to be justified by faith was different to what we have to believe/have believed today.
Abraham had to trust what God told him – that He (God) would make him (Abraham) the patriarch of a great nation which would be the light unto the world, through which the nations would/could be saved (times past).
Abraham could have rejected what God said in unbelief and remained with his family in Ur.
The good news we have to trust in order to be justified by God is to be found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Just as Abraham’s good news was simple, so too is our good news today.
We are children of Abraham today, which doesn’t make us Jews or the new Jews, or replacement Jews. We are purely children of Abraham through faith because we have trusted the same God that Abraham did in times past, the same God who is the Lord Jesus Christ:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The promise of the Spirit through faith : Salvation, being reconciled to God, just as Abraham was reconciled to God through faith.
Contrary to popular belief, God’s Covenant with Israel wasn’t disannulled – it was put on hold, it is currently in abeyance:
7 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
There are still unfulfilled promises in Israel’s Old Covenant which will be fulfilled in a future time (during the Millennial Kingdom) – proof that the dry bones of Ezekiel 37 will come to life and live once again. God keeps His promises.
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
When the appointed time came, God sent His Son, born of a virgin, made under the LAW.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Verse 7 is clear: One can only be saved/reconciled to God/justified and be an heir of God THROUGH CHRIST.
And it’s not through Christ according to His earthly ministry because during His earthly ministry, Israel was under the Law: Matthew 19:17; John 14:15. One had to keep the commandments in order to have life (be saved)
It’s through Christ according to the revelation of the mystery: Romans 16:25
What does the Apostle Paul say according to the Lord Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery which is in effect today?
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Yet most trying to justify themselves by keeping the commandments (the law) today, but they fail miserably because the Levitical and Mosaic Law contain over 600 commandments which are impossible to keep, besides even trying to keep them with constant confessing/repenting of one’s sins won’t justify you in the eyes of God, because:
THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.
The just shall not live by faith plus works.
The just shall not live by a performance based gospel.
The just shall not live by constant repenting and confessing of their sins (because they’ve already been forgiven).
The just shall not live by fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Philippians 4:6-7 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Keeping in mind, it takes time to mature spiritually, but at the same token not to surround yourself with those who have a bad influence on you like the Galatians and were put back under the law.
Galatians 4:19 19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
Most today stay spiritual children and never grow up spiritually because they’re too busy running after some new thang, or listening/watching inane videos and/or following some goof ball man who calls himself a Mid-Acts Dispensationalist who professes to love them, yet passes around the collection plate every Sunday. That says it all.
