The problem with fellowshipping and listening to the wrong people:
1 Corinthians 15:
Evil communication – there is no resurrection of the dead so let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die. How many times have you heard that one?
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Paul is saying, awake to righteousness, i.e., receive God’s imputed righteousness and don’t sin by being in unbelief (that there is no resurrection of the dead). Some have not the knowledge of God, in other words they don’t even know what the Gospel is, they speak lies, and associating with these people is in fact listening to evil communications which corrupt good manners (sound doctrine, sound beliefs), don’t be deceived.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
