THANKFUL

Expressing gratitude and relief.

I am grateful that I am saved from God’s wrath, from being eternally separated from Him.  I am grateful I am no longer His enemy, and that He loves me.

I have learnt and am still learning to be thankful IN EVERYTHING because it is the will of God IN CHRIST JESUS concerning me.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I learn to be a better and stronger person through suffering.  Suffering makes me stronger.

Only in His name:

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Because He is the only reason we are saved and will live eternity reconciled to God.

Colossians 3:15-17 – And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

I am thankful the peace of God rules in my heart :  I am no longer afraid, I am no longer blind.  I know what to expect, especially when I die.

Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

2 Corinthians 9:15 – Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift.

That’s exactly what it is – his unspeakable gift.  No words can aptly describe it. Who else could/would give a gift like He did?

Colossians 3:15 – And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Colossians 4:2 – Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Thankful for His gift of eternal life, thankful to be reconciled to God.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Unbelievers are unthankful for the life they’ve been given, unthankful for the chance they have been given at salvation because they do not have the wisdom of God:

Romans 1:21 – Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
